MANILA BROADCASTING COMPANYMBC holds the distinction of being the pioneer broadcast institution in the Philippines. Taking over the reins of Heacock-owned KZRH following World War II, Don Manolo Elizalde had a new studio built atop the Insular Life Building on Plaza Cervantes within 40 days after Liberation. By 1949, KZRH (now known as DZRH) began broadcasting nationwide – becoming the first station to reach audiences as far north as Basco, and as far south as Jolo. Throughout the 50s and the 60s, it established itself as the leading news and entertainment station in the country – a distinction it holds until today.
Following the acquisition of DYRC Cebu, which evolved into Aksyon Radyo, the network expanded its reach into the FM band with DZMB (now known as 90.7 Love Radio) — later adding on 101.1 Yes-FM, Hot-FM, and more recently, 96.3 Easy Rock. With provincial partners nationwide, it also set up the Radyo Natin network, the largest FM network in the country which reaches even the farthest municipalities of every province. In 2008, MBC began airing RHTV on television through Skycable, later switching to Dream Satellite, Cable Link and Cignal Digital Television. MBC has also ventured into special events and continues to provide radio listeners with a diverse array of activities that highlight both regional and national pride. Today, with stations in key areas of the archipelago, MBC is able to reach out to the remote corners of the country and at the same time is heard by Filipinos overseas via the internet. It continues to be a witness to Philippine history as it unfolds, while maintaining the highest standards of broadcast excellence. Radyo Natin NetworkRadyo Natin (In English: Our Radio) is the biggest radio network in the Philippines. Composed of 100 stations covering the nation, from Claveria and Aparri, Cagayan in the north to Bongao, Tawi-tawi in the south, Radyo Natin is able to reach audiences that have never been reached before by another radio station.
Radyo Natin is found in the FM band. in the mornings it hooks up with Manila Broadcasting Company's flagship station, DZRH, to cover the news. In the afternoons, on regular programming, Radyo Natin swings to being a music station which offers the latest and biggest hits of the county. And in the evenings, it airs Ang Dating Daan, a religious program hosted by televangelist Eliseo Soriano. With central studios found at the MBC Building within the Star City Complex in Pasay, Radyo Natin sends its signals to its 100 stations by using state of the art satellite technology. These 100 stations then broadcast their signals to their respective areas of responsibility. These individual Radyo Natin stations can, however, "unhook" from the Manila central studios and air events of their own localities on special specified hours, thus, Radyo Natin is nationwide in coverage, yet local in nature.
